Year 4 travelled to the local washlands to take part in their shipwrecked adventure.
They found wild squirrel and rabbit to kill, skin and cook. They were delicious!
Half of the children went off into the woods to chop down branches to create their own shelters. The other half created their own fires using tinder. They then cooked their own potatoes and meat on the fires which they ate sat around the fire or in their shelters. Every child learnt how to work in a team and help one another to find suitable branches for dens and suitable materials for fire. They learnt how to live off the land and basic survival skills. A skill set which is much needed for today's youth!
