Wednesday 27th January 2021

Good morning everybody!

It was lovely to see so many of you yesterday, don’t forget our second Teams lesson, Thursday at 1pm! I look forward to seeing you all then!

This week on Thursday 28th and Friday 29th January, between the times of 10.30am-11.45am and 1-2.30pm, you will be able to come to school to KS1 entrance to exchange your child’s reading book (Please return “Simon sock” and the book in your child’s pack before Christmas).

There will also be an additional Phonics and Maths pack to help support your child at home.

You can also bring back your pencil and change it for a sharper one!

Please follow social distancing guidelines.

Today’s activities are as follows

Phonics

Today we are going be learning the “or” digraph

Have a practise blending some words containing the “or” digraph

How many words can you write containing “or”?

Can you write them in a sentence?

English

This week we are going to be looking at the book “Eat Your Greens, Goldilocks: A Story about Eating Healthily” written by Steve Smallman

This week I would like you to keep a food diary.

To do this you need to write down everything you eat and drink for the entire week!

You can add to this diary each day, to look at how healthy you are eating!

Upload your pictures on the class blog or our Microsoft teams! I look forward to seeing your pictures!

Watch this video to find out why we need to eat a balanced diet!

A great resource to use at home is “Teach your monster to read!” this online program is free and a fantastic opportunity to practice reading at home!

Maths

This week we are going to look at ordering numbers.

For this we will be looking at more and less.

You can make your own number cards to practise at home.

Can you make your own at home? Can you make them up to 20?

All you need is a piece of paper, a pencil and some scissors.

(You can ask your grownups to help you with the scissors!)

How quickly can you organise your numbers?

Join me on Twinkl go where you can practise recognising number value.
