Ben Armson, an image maker, who has just graduated form Northumbria University with a First Class Honours degree visited Class 1 to read his book 'The Very Busy Zoo Keeper' which he has written and illustrated.
After reading his book, children drew an animal of their choice and had to think about what special characteristics it had. They also made rhymes about it.
Everyone participated in our assembly the following day, showing their animal illustrations and reading aloud their rhymes.
'All animals are different, we know this much is true,
Come with me and lets explore, the wonders of the zoo!'
(Quote from 'The Very Busy Zoo Keeper' by Ben Armson)
Take a look at some of the photos showing children at work. they thoroughly enjoyed meeting Ben and drawing the animals. The whole school enjoyed listening to children's animal rhymes and looking at their colourful pictures.
