Enjoying, Progressing, Achieving
Good morning Year 3,
Firstly, I must say how impressed I am with the Andy Goldsworthy artwork I've seen so far. A particular mention to Eli B, Cole, Eli W and Faris, absolutely stunning work! I look forward to seeing the rest of the classes' artwork, please place it on Mrs Walsh's blog that she has created for it!
Today we start with a speed read! Click on the link below, read the text and write your answers neatly in your English book.
Maths:
WALT: Compare Capacity
S2S:
1000 milliliters
1 Liter (L) is equal to 1000 milliliters (mL).
Before you begin click on the link and watch the video
https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/skillswise/capacity/zdhm92p
When you have watched the video open the compare worksheet, remember all answer and working out must be in your maths book.
When you have finished the maths task ask your parents if you can look in the fridge and cupboards! You are looking for anything with litres or millilitres. Then create 3 number sentences using the capacity of the items you have found.
Example:
1ltr of sunflower oil + 500mls of vinegar = 1.5ltrs or 1500mls
English:
WALT: Identify and use Nouns, Adjectives and Verbs.
S2S: Ask yourself what job is the word doing?
Complete this work in your English books.
History
Time to explore time! Knowing and explaining when something happened is an important part of understanding history.
WALT Create a timeline that is sequenced and clear to follow
S2S Use your prior learning of the Sone Age
Task Open the PowerPoint below and work through each slide making notes of important dates and events.
You need then to make a timeline of events using all the dates I have given you.
Your timeline can be vertical or horizontal but if you are doing it in your book you must use a ruler and the event must be under the date.
However... why not have fun and create your timeline on the floor, outside even use the washing line and pegs. If you choose not to work in your books you must ask your parents to photograph your time line and post it on Mr L'Amie's Timeline Blog!
