The Daily Mile 2022
The Daily Mile
The Daily Mile was a scheme started in Scotland to help children's physical and mental wellness. It involves children running 1 mile everyday (or as often as possible).
At Greenhill we started to implement The Daily Mile to increase the exercise levels at our school. Teachers are in charge of taking their class outside to complete the Daily Mile whenever it fits in to their timetable. Children are encouraged to walk, jog or run at their own pace for 15 minutes, which is equivalent to running a mile for most children. Most teachers will join in with their class as well!
Children enjoy the opportunity to let off steam, and also get to compete in an around the world challenge with the rest of the school where they move one space on the map for each time they complete the Daily Mile.
