Class 1 enjoyed a morning visit to Wakefield Museum. Whilst there, we used a variety of artefacts as inspiration for a story. We worked in small groups, as a team, to select characters and a setting using 'Puppet Pals' to create our own visual prompts to use to tell a story.
Children enjoyed taking photos of themselves and their peers. They then used these photos of themselves, enabling them to be a character in the story. Children enjoyed working together and using the instant visual prompts to help develop their imaginations, and sequence their stories, as they brought the characters to life on screen. The visual literacy really helped develop children's oracy/ speaking and listening skills.
Great fun was had using expression, impersonating and improvising with characters voices -especially those that showed great wickedness!
