Spring 1 - Significant Individuals

 

The children in Year 2 class have been exploring the lives of significant individuals. As part of our Geography topic we looked at the 7 continents of the world. The children were eager to find out about Antarctica. As a class we explored Scott of the Antarctic and his expedition. We planned out the route that he took and the barriers that he faced to complete his journey. The children discussed what it must have been like to be in the shoes of ‘Scott’. The children recorded his journey on a map and the essentials that he needed to survive. We carried out ‘hot seating’ with the children to understand his emotions at particular points during his expedition.
