On Thursday September 26th Year 5 pupils held a cake and coffee afternoon to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support. The children organised the whole event, from writing persuasive letters to local businesses, requesting donations, speaking to Maria (a MacMillan nurse) to delivering invitations to the older members of our community. We had huge support, from parents, pupils and staff making cakes and buns, to the donations of coffee, milk and tea etc from local businesses. The event was a huge success with pupils, parents, governors and members of the community enjoying an afternoon of laughter, stories and cake! In total Year 5 raised just over £364! It was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to make a difference to the world and society around them.
