Pizza Express Visit
We had an amazing time making pizza Margharitas at Pizza Express this week. Having already made and filmed ourselves and our friends as TV chefs following instructions to make healthy pizzas in school as part of our Computing curriculum work, we experienced what it is like to be a pizzaiolo (pizza chef) at Pizza Express! We found out that Judy, the pizzaiolo, makes approximately 100 pizzas every day! An interesting fact which we discovered is that tomatoes are mostly grown in China. Another astounding fact we witnessed is the cooking time of the pizzas -they only take 3 and a half minutes to cook in the huge ovens at the restaurant. Take a look at the photos showing how we made our pizzas with tomato, mozzarella and a sprig of basil. You can also see some of the fabulous recount writing produced by Year 1 afterwards.
We were delighted to take our pizzas home with us at the end of the day to share with our families.
