Good morning everybody!
Phase 1 - Aspect 2 - Adjust the volume
In phonics today, I would like you to use the instruments that we made yesterday with the objects from the kitchen - a drum (pan), some claves for tapping (wooden/metal spoons) and your shaker.
Today's phonics is about making loud sounds and quiet sounds. This is an easy game to play at home. Sit opposite your child and ask them to copy you making loud sounds and quiet sounds. Tap out simple rhythms either loudly or quietly and ask them to listen carefully and then copy you.
Once they have got the idea, swap over. Let them play a loud or quiet rhythm for you to copy.
Finally, encourage your child to sing their favourite nursery rhymes and play their instrument at the same time. Can they sing/play it loudly and then can they sing/play it quietly.
