WALT – Measuring capacity.

Starter

Yesterday we looked at capacity, which is the total amount of liquid a container can hold.

Task – Find 4 or 5 different sized containers from around your home:

Using your smallest container, we are going to fill the other containers with water.

Task - Write down which of your remaining containers you think will have the least capacity and which will have the most capacity.

(The container that takes the least fills has the least capacity.
The container that takes most fills has the most capacity.)

Task - Record how many times it takes to fill each container.

Container                      Number of fills

Blue cup                                    7

Jar                                           23

Bottle                                      13

Purple cup                                 4

Were you correct? Which of your containers had the least and most capacity?
