Activity 1- Number Hunt

Count to 10 with your child. Ask them to count to 10. Give your child an empty basket or a container. Ask your child to find a certain number of objects. For example, Can you find me 4 socks? or Can you find me 2 apples? Concentrate on numbers 1-10. You could write the number down on a piece of paper so they can see what the number looks like. After the hunt point to the numbers that you have written, can they identify each number from 1-10?

Look, listen and note how well your child can:

  • Count 1-10?
  • Find the correct number of objects?
  • Match quantity to a numeral
