We had a very busy day at St Leonard's Farm in Esholt. We travelled there on a coach.
Farmer James told us all about the animals that lived on the farm and how to care for them. We got to meet a Lamb, a Guinea Pig, a Ferret, a Mouse, a Barn Owl, a Chick and a Chicken up close, in our special farm talk.
At Lunchtime we ate our packed lunches on the grass in the picnic area.
After Lunch we had lots of fun being very adventurous in the play barn. There were slides, ball pools, climbing walls etc, even the teachers enjoyed joining in!
After a busy day we all gathered together on the grass and enjoyed a nice cool ice lolly.
On the way home lots of us fell asleep on the bus.
We had a good time on our trip to the farm!

A lot of our learning is outdoors so please ensure your children have appropriate footwear and always bring a rain coat. In winter please bring a warm coat and wellies and in summer you need to apply sun cream at home and bring a sun hat to nursery.
Our new Trim Trail.
Our Willow Nature Area.
Wednesday is the day when we hold our P.E. session, so our focus on that day is about physical development. The children go to the hall in main school and are encouraged to take off their own shoes, socks and jumpers. It is helpful for your child to practise doing this independently at home. We follow the 'Action Kids' scheme of work. We always start the session with the Action Kids warm up and end the session with the action kids cool down. The children pick up the words and the actions to this very quickly and enjoy joining in!
We bake tasty treats every Friday. Please don't forget to pay your £1.50 baking money every half term. The children will take it in turns to help. They will bring home what they have made at library time.
Friday is library day. It is held at 11.15am for the morning children and 3pm for the afternoon children. It gives you the opportunity to come in to nursery and choose a book from the school library sevice with your child to take home and read over the weekend. All books should be returned on the following Monday. This also provides time to speak to the nursery staff if you have any concerns or question about your child or the nursery routine.
