On Wednesday 17th July, our Year 6 students set off to explore the capital of our great nation. Whilst in London they had the opportunity to visit the Tower of London and immerse themselves in the history of our monarchy; exploring how the battles and past Kings and Queens have shaped the England they live in today , as well as the rest of the world. A chance to see the Houses of Parliament led to some of our pupils discussing what laws they will change when they are in power!
This trip to London was the first chance any of our pupils had ever had to visit their capital and whilst they really enjoyed the London Eye, River Cruise, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace and so much more, it was the history they were immersed in, that impressed them the most. Whilst in the Tower of London , Luke S gasped ''Can you believe it? We are walking where Kings have walked and looking at the same buildings King Henry VIII saw!''
