Hatch It! specialises in providing schools with an easy ten day classroom chick hatching activity. The equipment and eggs were brought into the Upper Foundation classroom on Monday and the eggs were placed in an incubator. By Tuesday we could see the eggs wobble and we could hear cheeping from within the eggs. Hurray! Tuesday pm the first chick hatched. When the chick was dry and fluffy it was transferred to the brooding box. The box contained bedding, chick food and fresh water. Wednesday, four more chicks hatched, but sadly one died. The sixth chick finally hatched on Thursday. The children enjoy watching the chicks playing and sleeping. During the second week, the children will be able to handle the chicks.
