Enjoying, Progressing, Achieving
Starter- Look at your plan from last week for the story and read the beginning of the story that you wrote on Monday and Tuesday. If you edited and improved this, read your most recent piece. A year 1 goal is to be able to read back what they have written so allow them time to read their writing independently to themselves and then to someone in your house.
Task- Think, what is the problem in the story?
This is everything that the Elephant and the Bad Baby stole in the story- This should be in chronological order. Discuss this part of the story verbally, before writing in your lined books. Once children know what they are going to write, they can begin writing this in their books. Children should be using capital letters, finger spaces and full stops and have neat, cursive writing. Only write about the problem in the story please. This is the main focus for this piece of writing and children should be focusing on making this their best.
Please do not copy this straight from the book, this should build upon the reading and understanding of what happens in the book by the child.
