Discuss with children-
1. What is a noun?
2. What is a verb?
Noun- A noun is a naming word. It is a thing, a person, an animal or a place.
Verb- Verbs can be used to describe an action, that's doing something. For example, like the word 'jumping' in this sentence: The rabbit was jumping in the field. They can also be used to describe a state of being, that's feeling something.
1st task- read the sentences below and pick out the nouns and verbs. Children should be reading these sentences independently.
- The big dog is running to the park.
- The fast cat is jumping on the car.
- The boy is working.
2nd task- improve my sentences. Can you make them better? can you add an adjective? (describing word, e.g. soft, furry, long, short)
