We are carrying on with the ‘Rooted’ animated film (Literacy Shed).


1- Look back at the notes you made about the different seasons. Write sentences explaining what happened during each of the seasons.  Try to use conjunctions, adjectives and adverbs.  For example, ‘In the autumn, leaves turned to brown, red and orange.  Man Tree and Lady Tree looked at each other lovingly.’


2- Tell the next part of the story.  How can you tell that time had passed?  What happened to Man Tree and Lady Tree?  What happened to the bench couple?  How do you think the trees were feeling?  Try to use adjectives, conjunctions and adverbs to construct a mixture of long and short sentences. Remember to use phonics to spell or ask your grown up to help you with more difficult words.


3- Read through all of your work on the ‘Rooted’ story.  Can you edit your work in any way?  Check that you have used capital letters, full stops and other punctuation in the correct places.  Can you choose one of your sentences and improve it?  For example, add more adjectives or conjunctions?


4-The time has come to publish and illustrate your ‘Rooted’ story.  See if you can copy it up into ‘best’ (use another sheet of paper if you can).  Then draw pictures to illustrate it.  Don’t forget to take a photo to upload to the Facebook page! I look forward to seeing all of your hard work!
