WALT: write a diary

S2S: use the checklist and resource mat to support your writing (English resources on the Y6 class page)

You have, by now, written the first day of your diary after watching the first Varmints video - about the day the OTHERS came. As you know, dairies often have more than one day!

Now this part of the story suggests hope... (watch the ending on the link below).

First, read the diary you have written already and use the checklist to find your next step forward.

I want you to now write a diary extract for the day you (as the Varmint) heard the birds and bees again. You will be describing different emotions here, moving from how dull and lifeless the OTHERS made you feel to the slither of hope and inspiration you felt when seeing the wildlife again.

Use the diary & description checklists to help you plan  (you don't need to print it just use the headings and do it in your books) and use the SpaG checklist to ensure you have all the features needed. Make sure you are using your next steps forward for help!
