We had a tremendous time on our 'Alien Adventure' residential. We explored 'Back o' Beyond' and searched for clues of alien life form. Children worked in teams to build alien dens (space mansions even) for our new found friends!
Mr Hunter-Kelm showed us how to make alien slime (extremely messy business) and an alien cat helped keep us safe. Mr McClure and miss Mathers were abducted by the aliens for a short while but luckily managed to make it back to base camp safely, unscathed and most importantly...back in time for Mrs Raj's delicious dinner! What a feast!
Towards the end of the day, we searched for more clues upon hearing an alien spaceship hover above us, and after some deliberation, managed to decipher an important message which read 'HELP!'
After our toasted marsh mellows and a campfire story, we had a hot chocolate and a dance before settling down cosily and joining our teddies in our sleeping bags.
The next morning, we had a hearty breakfast and learned some useful alien gestures to prepare ourselves for an alien encounter. Minutes later, we put our alien language to good use as we communicated with an actual alien! Thankfully, it turned out to be quite friendly, if a little shy at first, so we read it a story which it seemed to enjoy. However, we ended up being transformed into aliens ourselves (with a lot of help from Miss Gates)! As you can see, we actually enjoyed our new alien identities and loved attending Alien school!
