Children's curiosity was ignited from the very start when someone said they'd seen an alien spaceship whilst on the coach approaching our camp. Once there we explored the woodland around us and children were fascinated with the alien evidence they discovered!
Children worked well together including helping each other unpack their belongings and they stuck together in pairs or groups when off exploring. They were proud of their dens (alien homes) and it was interesting to see them discuss ideas and build upon each other's ideas as well. The den-making competition was a huge success and each group were keen to discuss their design ideas and promote their home in order to gain top marks! Children energy levels soared on the second day when we met an alien and their inquisitive minds were working over-time!
Children were considerate and polite to peers and adults alike, creating a positive, happy atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed the visit immensely and I'm sure children will remember the Reception and KS 1 residential for years to come and we look forward to the next one....Bears here we come!
